"It's About That Love" (Khaos CD) was such the bomb, that I wanted to do something totally different. With that CD, all the poems had music behind them that I kind of helped produce and it was only 12 tracks long.
This time around I gave my producers (Versiz and Andre Royster) full creative control with the music, in fact I would lay the vocals and let them add what music seemed appropriate. I also added live tracks, and a cappella studio tracks, which gives the CD a total of 20 tracks. The CD is titled "Nothing But Kahn" because there is no one on the CD but me. At first I had this big line-up of names that I was going to add to my project, but I figured since my last CD was a collabo, I should put the weight of this all on myself.
The first half is called the Armory Session because they were recorded in Versiz?s studio called the Armory. The last two sections (All the way live and My story montage) are live recordings recorded by James Mohammad and Andres Royster of Soundcircle.
To purchase the CD just email me and I will set it up through PayPal.
Nothing But Kahn
  1. "World's Greatest Poem"- Versiz did an excellent job with this track. This poem is basically saying that the world?s greatest poem has not been written but it has been lived, in fact we all are living it. Everyday we wake up, and we are being positive, we are all poetry in motion.
  2. "A Woman's Worth"- is an a cappella studio track dedicated to black women from all over the world. It was inspired by my grandmother, and my girl Latasha
  3. "Everybody's a Writer"- is a metaphorical poem similar to the "World's greatest poem." I?m basically saying that weather you're writing savings deposit slips for the son's college tuition or you're writing rhymes on your lunch break; you're still a writer. Versiz provided a piano driven melodic beat for this one.
  4. "Our Time is Now"- is me blowing off a little steam. Versiz gave me a bombastic beat to do that over. I?m going off on rappers, fake poets and other haters.
  5. "Imagine" is an a cappella track. It was the last poem written for the CD. People always complain about their lives, but compared to someone over in the middle east or in the Sudan right now, most of our lives aren?t that bad.
  6. "Runnin"- Again, another dope beat by Versiz. This is a poem where I deal with some of the issues I dealt with while being a teenager/young adult.
  7. "Self-Love"- a cappella poem based on an experience I had with a young boy I came across. It?s a poem for the youth and my desire to see kids who will value themselves not material things.
  8. "Tired?- Bling, Bling, O.J., Jordan's, 20s and ice. I'm just tired of it all.
  9. "A Mother's Love"-My mother died when I was 15 months old and I believe that I missed out on a few lessons about love. This poem details that.

10. "Poetry and Jazz"- an erotic piece and it's Versiz's best beat on the CD. Nuff Said!

11. "Love" - My only love poem on the CD and it?s a classic.

12. "Hey Sonny!"- a quick interlude. I had a dream one night that all my fellow poets and me were in a jam session with Miles, Trane and some others. It's a funny story but you gotta buy the CD to hear the rest J

13. "God Played The Saxophone"- this a live track recorded by James Mohamed on April First 2004 at the Camillian Café. It's my poem for John Coletrane.

14. "Remember me a Poem"- another live poem. Tupac wanted to be remembered a G" and I want to be remembered a poem.

15. "Winds of Change" - also live at the Camillian Café. Violence, poverty, poor schools. Like they say, the more things change the more they stay the same.

16. "Elevators"- This was recorded by Andre Royster at The Brown Bean Café. I work on the tenth floor of the Fisher Building, which means I ride the elevators a lot. And when you ride the elevators a lot, you see a lot. Andre put an outstanding house music beat behind this.

17. "Stand" - Recorded live at the Brown Bean as well. This used to be my signature poem, I wrote it back in 2003, and the only reason I recorded it was because people still request it. A version with music on it is on the Khaos CD.

18. "The My Story Montage"-recorded live at the Brown Bean Too. Poems, "Thinking of you," "She reminded me of my mother," "Gas Fumes," and "Shine on" are all done in this montage. The series details the tragic events of my parent's death and how I dealt with them.
